Reflection= M- 2a

What are your reflections or insights on “Module 2: Instructional Development Stages and Design Models”

We were so eager to make the design of our T-shirt that we failed to notice the “Visayas” detail which is the topic of the suppose designs. True to reality, we teachers tend to be so excited over the making of instructional materials or designs that we fail to consider the receiver. The students should be the center of all our learning objectives. The speaker presented four models which are useful to making instructional designs. Due to the need of finishing a desired curriculum and instruction, we failed to consider that each pupil is a learner and thus deserve to understand the lesson before moving to the next topic. I was saddened that in reality, which we cannot deny, we tend move to the next lessons even if some did not understand yet. Although many factors had contributed to this dilemma, a solution might help, if not totally eradicate, minimize. I think this is where technology comes in.

The speaker, although may have delivered the topic faster than expected due to short time, had made a clear presentation.

Reflection= M-1

What are your reflections or insights on “Module 1: The Pedagogical Perspective on the Role of Technology in Education”

Today, I learned about the roles of technology in education which indeed not only aid teachers in classroom instructions but as well divert student’s attention from idleness to interest in even the most boring subjects. Technology amplifies learning into more concrete and realistic one. It also transforms the learning situation into a dynamic process. It motivates the students, more especially nowadays, that students are visual- motivated. We cannot also deny that students now are more knowledgeable in terms of the use of technology than the older ones. I am also an advocate of the project in having per classroom a computer set and a television for this really will help improve the teaching-learning situation.

Reflection - M-2b

What are your reflections or insights on “Module 2b: Analysis of the Learner and the Environment”

The learners are the heart of every instruction, thus all lessons must gear toward them. The effectiveness of every learning instruction depends mainly on the understanding achieved by each learner. A lesson will not be a success if it will not cater to the needs of every learner. Thus, it is in my full agreement when the speaker reiterated that the teacher must be alive, alert and enthusiastic but never will he/she be the center of the stage but only the facilitator of learning. the classroom or whatever the setting for instruction should be conducive to learning.

The speaker did not touch all that is in the handouts of Module 2b but touch the most important parts only for the main reason that all participants are teachers. thus, they have experiences in dealing with their learners.
